We Made It: 2015-2016 Review

We've made it to summer! Without snow days, this year really flew by! Let's take a look at this year...

Last spring, we were honored with a grant from Rogers Public Education Fund for almost $2,000 to help develop a costume closet for our students. In September, we received our leotards, tights, ballet shoes, and ballet skirts so that we could begin practicing as dancers. Don't they look professional?
After we learned ballet skills and choreography, we moved into lyrical dance. Students were very engaged with this style of dance due to the focus on interpreting the words in each song. Their performances were stellar, and it was a great way to wrap up the fall semester!

In the spring, we focused on our April recital. Each class had at least one dance captain who choreographed and planned out a dance for their class. Our captains choreographed hip hop and lyrical numbers that really enhanced our show! Other numbers that graced our stage included musical theatre, bachata, modern, cumbia, jazz, pointe, and merengue. Check out the whole show from this year here!
Other highlights from the year include pep rally performances at both RHS and HHS! Our dancers were such great representatives of what we do in class. Additionally, this spring we were awarded two more grands from Rogers Public Education Fund: one to increase our dance closet and the other to purchase a MacBook for music editing! We are so thankful for all that they do for education in Rogers!

Mark your calendars for our 2017 recitals: APRIL 8 & 9, 2017! Enjoy your summer, and be ready for a fun year once we return in August!
